This work is dealing with the design for maintaining and monitoring optimal temperature for home-based data center. The purpose of this work is to prolong the life of hard drives in data center for as long as possible. First of all, the attention is given to establishing what the optimal temperature for maintaining long-live of hard drives is and how to correctly measure it. Based on the knowledge obtained from theory and from the prototype testing the final design of embedded system for maintaining this function is created.

Multimedia player of non-compressed audio data and images

The work deals with hardware and software design of standalone audio player for uncompressed format. Designing device will ensure the connection and operation of the hard drive, browse the directory and files, display bitmap images and play audio records. Next parts of player are also a graphic equalizer and audio power amplifiers for speakers or headphones. A certain complexity of the system is given a relatively high bitrate of uncompressed audio and the need to continuously control of the periphery.

This bachelor thesis deals with the current process of corporate data management and central data backup design at STAVOPROGRES BRNO spol. s r.o. Thesis offers options for changes to make process more optimal. Thesis points to the solution of a central data backup in which all created data will be backed up automatically. Thesis also describes theoretical resources and other options to manage data inside the company.

This Bachelor thesis focuses on creating centrally managed application, which will be deployed on client’s laptops and workstations of all employees of Danaher Motion s.r.o. company in Brno. Its main purpose is to automatically backup email archives of Microsoft Outlook application represented by PST data files to a network storage equipped by hard drive fault-tolerant system called RAID. The application is created in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition C# environment.

Porting Tang to OpenWRT

Hlavným cieľom tejto práce je naportovať a zdokumentovať tento proces sprístupnenia serveru Tang na vstavané zariadenia typu WiFi smerovač, s plne modulárnym operačným systémom OpenWrt. Tým dosiahneme anonymnú správu šifrovacích kľúčov pre zabezpečené domáce siete a siete malých firiem. Preto táto práca popisuje problematiku šifrovania a jeho využitie na zabezpečenie pevného disku počítača. Oboznámuje čitateľa so štruktúrou šifrovaného diskového oddielu podľa LUKS špecifikácie, na operačných systémoch typu Linux. Práca rozoberá možnosti automatizácie odomykania šifrovaných diskov použitím externého servera, ktorý vstupuje do procesu ako tretia strana. Sú v nej popísané princípy serverov Key Escrow a Tang. Dosiahnutie hlavného cieľa je možné vďaka procesu portovania a krížovej kompilácie na platforme Linux. Práca obsahuje zdokumentovaný postup prispievania zmien a novo vytvorených balíkov pre OpenWrt do príslušných Open Source projektov.
